HyperOS 2.1 leaked list dunks POCO X7, Redmi Note 14 Pro+, and more

HyperOS 2.1 list of ineligible devices.

Is someone spreading lies about HyperOS 2.1 to deter users and ditch Xiaomi?

Many are okay, others are disappointed, and a few are very upset. Someone out there seems furious at Xiaomi after getting HyperOS.

A leaked list showed something odd that two recently released Xiaomi devices, among others, are going to be denied HyperOS 2.1. HyperOS 2.1 isn’t a major upgrade when factoring in the Android version because it still runs on Android 15.

The list is simply wrong. Yes, the POCO X7 isn’t the pro model, but it was just launched this year. It’ll get at least two major upgrades or up to Android 16 because it was released with Android 14.

Another wrong thing is the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G. It came out with Android 14 this year, so it deserves Android 16 and Xiaomi will likely give it because it’s the pro model.

It’s an obvious attempt to spread lies with the focus on the models and HyperOS 2.1. We don’t know the real reason, but perhaps to discourage users from staying with Xiaomi? No surprise if true because the brand itself is at fault; thanks for hyping HyperOS.

So, what’s HyperOS 2.1 anyway? It’s based on Android 15 and built around HyperOS 1 and 2. Here is some information about this version:

  • Reported having the OS version format of “2.0.100.0.XXX”
  • New system animations for opening and closing apps
  • New support for one-tap clipboard clearing
  • New Beautify for video feature in the call toolbox
  • New 4×6 homescreen layout
  • New scenery templates for the lockscreen
  • Fix for the bug that sometimes prevented the clearing of Recents

HyperOS 2.1 isn’t a big upgrade. The real deal is the Xiaomi HyperAI patch for global users. It’s the filler to the void left by HyperOS 1 and 2, adding the missing features like:

  • AI Cinematic Lock Screen
  • AI Dynamic Wallpapers
  • AI Search
  • AI Art
  • AI Subtitles

Xiaomi HyperAI is slated for release next month with the POCO F6, F6 Pro, X7 Pro, and X7 Pro Iron Edition as first recipients. But will Xiaomi mess up this one too?
