How TechPipino collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

TechPipino (“we”, “us”) publishes tech news, reviews and device prices for readers worldwide at techpipino.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who handles it, and the choices you have. We operate from Quezon City, Philippines, and welcome readers from around the world.

1. Who is responsible

TechPipino is the controller of your personal information. Our Data Protection Officer is the TechPipino Team. For any privacy question or request, email techpipino@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

  • Newsletter: your email address when you subscribe.
  • Contact and partnership forms: the name, email address, company (partnership form only), topic and message you send.
  • Email you send us directly: your address and whatever you write.
  • Automatic data: our statistics tools (Jetpack Stats, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) record visits and popular pages, such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser, device type and referring site. Microsoft Clarity also records how pages are used (clicks, taps, scrolls and mouse movement) as anonymised session replays and heatmaps. We use Clarity’s Balanced masking setting, which hides sensitive text and form fields from recordings. We do not currently use this data to build advertising profiles of individual readers; see section 8 for our plans for advertising.
  • Technical data: your IP address is processed by our hosting provider, our image delivery network and security tools so the site loads and stays protected.
  • Settings stored in your browser: your chosen currency and the devices you add to Pipino Split stay on your device and are not sent to us.

We do not run user accounts or comments, and we do not take payments on this site. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

  • To send the newsletter: your consent (you can withdraw it at any time).
  • To answer messages and partnership requests: our legitimate interest in replying to you, or steps you ask us to take.
  • To measure visits and page use with Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, run Jetpack Stats and keep the site secure: our legitimate interests in understanding which content is useful and in running and protecting the site. Analytics are switched on by default and you can switch them off at any time with the Manage consent button.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests.

In the Philippines, we process personal information under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) on the grounds above.

4. Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:

  • Automattic (WordPress.com and Jetpack): website statistics, image delivery network, the newsletter subscription and sending service, and contact-form handling.
  • Hostinger: our web hosting provider, which hosts the site and its data.
  • Google: Google Analytics (website statistics) and Gmail (our email inbox, when you email us or we receive form messages).
  • Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity (website usage analytics, heatmaps and anonymised session replays).

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or others’ safety.

5. International transfers

Our providers are located in or may process data in other countries, including the United States. By using the site or subscribing, you understand your information may be processed outside your country. We choose providers that publish privacy commitments and security measures.

6. How long we keep it

  • Newsletter email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact and partnership messages: 12 months after our last reply, unless we need them longer for a legal or business reason.
  • Statistics: in aggregate form, kept by our statistics providers (Automattic, Google and Microsoft) under their own retention rules. Clarity session recordings and heatmaps are kept by Microsoft under Clarity’s own retention rules.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: be informed, access your data, correct it, erase or block it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, withdraw consent, and claim damages where the law allows. To use any of these, email techpipino@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. You may need to confirm your identity.

You can also complain to a regulator: in the Philippines, the National Privacy Commission; in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link at the bottom of any email.

Your rights by region

We apply the same protections to every reader. In more detail, depending on where you live:

  • Philippines (Data Privacy Act of 2012): you may ask to access, correct, block or delete your data, object to processing, receive a copy in a common format, and claim damages for misuse. You may complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
  • European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR): you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict your data, object to processing, move your data, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
  • Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA), Australia (Privacy Act), South Africa (POPIA): you have the access, correction, deletion and objection rights those laws give you, and you may complain to the regulator in your country.
  • United States (including California and other state laws): we do not sell your personal information and we do not currently share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If that changes because we start showing personalised ads, we will update this policy first and honour opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control. You may ask what we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.
  • Everywhere else: email us and we will apply the rights your local law gives you.

To use any of these rights, email techpipino@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is you before we act on a request.

8. Cookies

See our Cookie Policy. We do not currently show advertising and use no advertising cookies. We may show ads in the future, including personalised ads that use Google Analytics data (ads personalization is switched on for our Google Analytics property). Before we do, we will update this policy and give you a clear way to opt out. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity cookies are set by default when you visit. You can switch them off at any time with the Manage consent button at the bottom-left of every page or on the Cookie Policy page, and you can also use Google’s opt-out add-on. We honour the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals your browser sends. You can block or delete them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on, or ask us to stop using your data by emailing techpipino@gmail.com.

9. Children

TechPipino is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Security and breaches

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information in a way the law requires us to report, we will notify the affected people and the authorities within the legal deadlines (72 hours in the Philippines where required).

11. Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. For significant changes affecting newsletter subscribers, we will tell you by email or on the site.
