Editorial Policy
How we source, test, score and correct. If we cannot test it ourselves, we say so.
1. Our standards
TechPipino exists to give Filipino readers straight answers before they spend money on a device. We aim to be accurate, fair and clear, and to show our work.
2. How we review
- Two weeks minimum. Every review unit is used as a daily driver for at least fourteen days before it is scored.
- Tested for PH conditions. Heat, commute, mobile data and all-day battery, measured the way phones are used here.
- Numbers over adjectives. We publish measurements, such as frame rates, thermal readings and charge times, so you can judge for yourself.
3. The Pipino Power Rating
Every reviewed device is scored out of 5. A 5.0 is the best in its price class. A 4.0 is strong value with a trade-off we name. A 3.0 is competent but beaten by something else at the same price. A 2.0 has real compromises. A 1.0 is a device we would steer a friend away from.
4. Independence
Brands never see a review before publication and cannot change a score. Loaned units are returned or disclosed. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how links and income work.
5. Leaks and rumors
Leaks are labelled as leaks, with the source type and a confidence level. We separate what is confirmed from what is rumored, and we update or retract stories when the facts change.
6. Opinion and satire
Opinion pieces, including The Cucumber Dipper column, are clearly labelled as opinion and are not reviews.
7. Corrections
We fix errors in place and add a visible update note with the date. If you spot a mistake, tell us at techpipino@gmail.com and we will review it promptly.
