The nightmarish boot loop phenomenon on the POCO series seemingly haunts some users of POCO X6 Pro.
Boot loops are horrors for smartphone users because that could mean the end of their device. Not only losing data, but also losing money due to the need to buy a new one right away.
Recently, a Redditor reported device corruption on their POCO X6 Pro, which is running on HyperOS 2. They claimed that their handset isn’t rooted, still bootloader locked, and has no mods.
They had already wiped their device clean via factory reset but the issue clinged like a needy lynx. Luckily, other Redditors came to the rescue with solutions and the proud owner of the POCO X6 Pro was able to save their mid-ranger.
Not an isolated case?
Several months back, another Redditor reported something else. Their POCO X6 Pro crashed and when they rebooted it, they were greeted with a “my device is corrupt and can’t be trusted” message before it decided to go nighty-night. The device was on HyperOS 1 at the time.
Later on they took the issue to the POCO customer executives; big time, huh? These “executives” blamed the issue on the 1.0.8.0 update, which brought the nasty bug.
Bootloop bug returning?
Before persecuting POCO, know that the POCO X6 Pro is the rebrand of the Redmi K70E. Even their phone cases are perfectly compatible with each other. Assuming this is 100% true, the hardware between Redmi K70E and POCO X6 Pro should be the same, including the motherboard.
In both cases above, the problems were thought to be linked to the MOBO, but something’s so weird: their phones could respond to recovery mode. A totally ruined MOBO won’t let the device respond to anything.
So, what’s the likely cause? Our guess is it has something to do with the software. Getting a corruption message means something major went down within the firmware. Thus, reflashing the ROM has a better chance of fixing the problem than factory reset.
Protecting the MOBO
To be fair, there are many things left untold earlier. We don’t know their usage habits for one. Was the POCO X6 Pro being charged while in use? Was the phone temperature so high because of the rapid charging and searing surroundings?
Why ask these questions? The motherboard is quite sensitive to many things, including heat and unstable electric current. You can easily toast it to crisp by overheating the smartphone. That cramped space without active cooling under the blistering noon heat will surely endanger the hardware.
Flagship or not, with vapor cooling or without, use and abuse your smartphone wisely. Even the best of the best out there is not perfect.
If you encounter the same corruption message, as long as your phone can respond to recovery mode, it means you can flash its official ROM, specifically for that model and region. Complex? Perhaps you can leave it in the technician’s hands at authorized service centers.
Oh! Use the phone’s warranty if it is still active!
