Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Announced: Small Performance Gains, Stronger AI Features

Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with modest performance gains but big AI, gaming, and display upgrades

Qualcomm has officially unveiled the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (SM7750-AB), the latest addition to its 7-series lineup. Positioned as a direct successor to last year’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, this new mid-range chipset brings only modest performance improvements, but it introduces meaningful upgrades in AI, gaming, and display support.

CPU & GPU Performance

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Performance

The Kryo CPU architecture remains the same at 1+3+4 cores. The main change is a higher clock speed for the Prime Cortex-A720 core, now running at 2.7GHz (up from 2.5GHz on the 7s Gen 3). The 3x Cortex-A720 cores (2.4GHz) and 4x Cortex-A520 cores (1.8GHz) remain unchanged. Qualcomm claims this results in about a 7% performance boost in CPU tasks.

The Adreno GPU has also been refreshed, promising another 7% performance improvement, with support for Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution.
