Pokémon UNITE shutdown is set for March 23, 2027, at 8 a.m. Philippine time. The Pokémon Company’s end-of-service notice covers both Nintendo Switch and mobile, with online battles ending when service closes.

Players still have several months to play. However, anyone who wants to keep a record of their collection will need to complete a separate Library data download before the deadline.

Pokémon UNITE shutdown: The key dates

The official timetable lists these milestones. Philippine times below convert the announcement’s UTC schedule to UTC+8.

  • Oct. 27, 2026, at 1 p.m.: Aeos gem sales, new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals stop.
  • Nov. 12, 2026, at noon: The special event and Library update are scheduled to arrive.
  • Dec. 5, 2026: Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo qualifiers begin.
  • March 23, 2027, at 8 a.m.: Service ends, along with the chance to complete the required Library download.

Existing gems remain usable until shutdown. Current UNITE Club members can keep their benefits until their present membership period expires.

What the November update will add

The special-event announcement introduces Unite coins earned through log-in bonuses and missions. Players can exchange them for previously released items, including Unite licenses, Holowear and Trainer outfits.

The same update is scheduled to add the Library. It will let players revisit owned cosmetics, achievements and tournament records, with Practice Area access also planned.

That distinction matters: keeping a way to view your collection does not preserve matchmaking or the full online game.

Download the Library before the servers close

After the update launches, required assets will download during normal play or when the Library is first opened. Complete that initial download before service ends to retain access afterward.

There is an important device limit. Library data generally cannot move to another device, and deleted or lost data may be unrecoverable after shutdown. Support for the feature will also end.

If you plan to change phones, resolve any Library questions while support remains available. Do not assume that signing back into an account later will restore this archive.

What this means for Philippine players

For local players, the practical deadline is the morning of March 23. Set aside time after the November update to check the Library rather than leaving the download to the final day.

This is a separate development from the Nintendo eShop and Switch Online launch in the Philippines. A storefront or platform subscription does not keep an individual game’s servers running.

Our guide to Nintendo’s physical-game plans also explains why game format and download requirements deserve separate checks. For UNITE, the confirmed preservation option is its limited Library feature.

Frequently asked questions

Can you still play matches after shutdown?

No. The service notice says players will no longer be able to log in or join battles. Downloading the Library does not extend online play.

Will UNITE Club renew automatically?

Automatic renewals stop on Oct. 27. Existing benefits continue only until the current membership period ends.

Why is Pokémon UNITE shutting down?

The official notices do not explain the reason. Claims about revenue, player numbers or development costs should not be treated as confirmed causes.

Why it matters

The immediate task is preserving what the game allows you to keep. Check the November update, complete the Library download and keep its device limits in mind. The archive can retain part of your time with UNITE, while the battles themselves have a fixed end date.
