Pros & Cons

What we like

First OLED display on an iPad mini, now 8.5 inches
Apple A20 Pro chip with Wi-Fi 7 and an Apple C2 5G modem
IP67 water resistance, a first for an iPad
Thinner and lighter at 5.4 mm and 255 g
Works with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C)

What we don’t

Starting price rises to $699 and ₱49,990
No confirmed 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate
Base models get a 5-core CPU; 6-core only on 512GB
RAM is not published by Apple
No headphone jack or keyboard accessory

The Pipino Verdict

The iPad mini (2026) is the most capable small iPad yet on paper, with an OLED screen, the A20 Pro and IP67. The trade-offs are a much higher starting price and an unconfirmed refresh rate. Based on specs and brand data, not our own hands-on testing.
