Huawei could be preparing a new smartphone sub-brand called OSTA, with two phones reportedly named the O1 and O1 Pro. The information comes from leaks and secondary reports, and Huawei has not officially confirmed the brand or either handset.
No global, regional or Philippine launch, price or availability has been announced. Treat every specification below as a claim that could change.
What is OSTA?
Reports describe OSTA as the possible English name for Xingmang, a rumored Huawei-linked brand. Earlier reports translated Xingmang as “Starlight,” but a translation should not be mistaken for confirmed commercial branding.
GizChina reports (Nov. 4) that the proposed brand could target younger, online-focused buyers. Huawei has not confirmed that positioning. An earlier leak cited by GSMArena (Oct. 29), from tipster Digital Chat Station, suggested a first device in November, but there is no verified event date.
OSTA O1 Pro could have a wider screen
According to GizChina, the O1 Pro could use a 6.39-inch flat LTPS display with a 1.5K resolution and a 16:9.5 aspect ratio. That shape would be wider than the tall, narrow screens common on many current phones.
A wider screen may give more horizontal room for reading or some apps, though it could also make one-handed use less comfortable. Those are potential trade-offs based on the reported shape, not conclusions from handling the device.
The same report describes a horizontal rear camera module. Full camera specifications are not confirmed.
A purported retail-box image reportedly shows a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant. Other claimed configurations include 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB. The image and options have not been independently verified.
The GSMArena report cites a Kirin 9000-series chip for a wide-screen device, while earlier reports pointed to Kirin 8-series hardware. Neither claim establishes the final processor.
What about the standard OSTA O1?
The standard O1 is reportedly being developed with a display curved on four sides and a large circular rear camera module. Its screen size, chip, battery and cameras remain unclear.
A leaked design does not show how the two models would compare in performance, camera quality or battery life. It also does not confirm which software or apps a version sold outside China would offer.
Will OSTA phones launch outside China?
There is no confirmed international release, official peso price, local warranty information or product page for either model. That includes the Philippines. A launch in China would not automatically mean a launch elsewhere.

Why it matters
A new Huawei-linked brand could give shoppers another smartphone option, and the rumored wider Pro screen suggests a different approach to phone design. For now, the name, devices and specifications remain unconfirmed. Huawei’s own announcement will be needed to establish what, if anything, is coming.
